Compact, space‑saving design suited for light daily use.
-
Also handles herbs, spices—versatility beyond coffee grinding.
-

⚠️ Limitations & Known Issues
1. Blade Grinder Design
-
It chops beans like a spice grinder, producing uneven particle sizes. Not ideal for espresso—only coarse or inconsistent grounds result.
-
The texture is coarse to fine sludge—not precision grinding.
2. Poor Espresso Performance
-
Users report it’s unsuitable for espresso, even with extended grinding or shaking attempts.
-
Works best with pressurized baskets if paired with espresso machines (since it lacks uniform grind).
3. Mess and Static Buildup
-
Grounds easily scatter due to static; many clean counters after every use or use RDT (Rinse Dose Technique).
-
Messy and inconsistent—especially compared to burr grinders.
4. Limited Grind Control
-
No precise settings—speed or duration determines grind fineness, leading to inconsistency and manual trial/error.
🗣 Community Takeaways
From Reddit:
“It had a picture… one of which fit for espresso. I realized… it only grinds… for French‑press coffee only.”
“With a blade grinder, you will get best results with the stock pressurized portafilter. Bottomless requires a very uniform grind size, which will be impossible to achieve with a blade grinder.”

✅ Final Verdict
The De’Longhi KG200 is a basic entry-level blade grinder suited for casual drinkers who brew coarse coffee methods like French press or drip. It’s inexpensive, compact, and easy to use—but not designed for espresso, lacking consistency or finesse in grind quality.
If you’re aiming for espresso shots—especially with unpressurized baskets or machines like Dedica or Stilosa—you’ll want to upgrade to a burr grinder (electric or manual) for precision and uniformity.
🛠 Tips and Recommendations
-
Use pressurized baskets if you pair with an espresso machine, as these are more forgiving of uneven grinds.
-
Clean thoroughly after each use: brush and tap to minimize static and residue buildup.
-
Consider manual dosing hacks: wetting a spoon or using RDT can reduce clumping.
-
For better grind quality at budget price, consider upgrading to models like Wilfa Svart, Baratza Encore, Kingrinder, or 1Zpresso, especially if you value espresso extraction or pour‑over control
